digital fuzzy felt

Just under a week after I accidentally set myself the task of producing three illos for ‘The Owl and The Pussycat’, I am officially a finisher-completer. Which is more than can be said for me when it comes to the website I’m currently trying to develop.

After much debate, I decided not to change the owl opting to keep him nice and vague. In the first image, he is wooing kitteh by playing Smoke on the Water over and over again.

I’m still not sure whether or not the pig is unwittingly depicted as a pimp-like figure in the second image.

Great fun to produce. Each element was individually created in Photoshop, saved as a png-24 and placed in separate layers in the final working document, allowing for flexibility in terms of scaling/ moving the elements and experimenting with different layouts.

Kind of reminded me of playing with Fuzzy Felt as a kid.

  1. I like the last one, because the owl and the pussycat look contented. The Red Indian chief on the left looks as if he’s being kneecapped.
