congrats, cats and snack-a-jacks

Congratulations to Brooke Hagel, Dallas Shaw and Julianna Luther who won the Vaute Couture Challenge! Thoroughly deserving and talented winners whose work will soon become a reality :)

A big thank you to all who took the time to vote for my entry – my family, friends, colleagues, Twitterati, lovely artists from Illustration Friday and Illustration Station, readers and kind folk from Created in Birmingham, and maybe even other complete strangers across cyberworld – you are all wonderful! I was chuffed as chips to get to the final (thank you Leanne and the judges!), and the kind words and support have been fab!

I’m busy in the throes of commission numero uno at the moment. I’ve possible been covered in more paint within the past week than I have ever been at any other time in my life. Which is good. I’ve managed to stick my hand in the wet paint….twice. Not so good. But, disaster was averted and it’s now drying out satisfactorily for session four. Should be ready for the next wave of paint in a couple of days!

In other news, one of the cats has tried to convince me that she likes salt and vinegar Snack-a-Jacks. I have not given into this, so she is busily scoffing Whiskas chicken and cheese pockets instead.
